André Hampshire

André Hampshire

Founder & Academic Director

B.S. Chemistry & B.A. English, UT Austin
M.M. Composition, Texas State University
Published Poet

André brings scientific rigor and literary artistry to college counseling. With dual degrees in chemistry and English, plus graduate work in music composition, he mentors students across STEM and humanities with equal depth.

His approach emphasizes authentic self-expression over manufactured narratives. Rather than teaching students to game the system, he helps them articulate genuine intellectual journeys.

Elisabeth Hampshire

Elisabeth Hampshire

Literary Director

B.A. English, Texas A&M University
Published Poet

Elisabeth's expertise as a published poet informs every aspect of her approach to essay development. She understands how language works—not just grammatically, but emotionally.

She helps students find their authentic voices and transform ordinary experiences into extraordinary narratives. Not by imposing her style, but by drawing out what's already there.

How We Work

Hampshire Academia is deliberately small. We take on a limited number of students each year because we believe admissions counseling should be mentorship, not processing.

Every student works directly with us—André and Elisabeth—from first conversation to final submission. No junior counselors. No handoffs. No account managers.

We invite each family to a half-hour conversation before we begin. No commitment, no pressure—just an opportunity to understand your student's circumstances and see if we're the right fit.

Our Philosophy

Depth Over Volume

We maintain limited enrollment because genuine mentorship requires time and attention. We'd rather serve fewer students well than many students poorly.

Authenticity Over Formula

We don't believe in hooks, angles, or manufactured narratives. The best applications reflect genuine students—their actual interests, real experiences, and honest perspectives.

Understanding Over Templates

Every student is different. We invest time understanding each person before offering guidance—their strengths, their aspirations, their circumstances.

Intellectual Growth

We view the admissions process as an opportunity for genuine development—not just a transaction to optimize. Students should emerge more articulate and self-aware.

Honest Assessment

We tell students what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Kindly, but directly. False encouragement helps no one.

Founder Accountability

When you work with Hampshire Academia, you work with us. We stake our reputation on every student we take on.
